Hello to all bookworms out there. Today’s blog post will be a book review on an English novel titled The Sweet Escape. It was written by a Wattpad author named TheKilljoyWitch. There will be a total of 40 chapters. It belongs to the category of romance with tags like depression and newadult. Read on to know more about this amazing novel. 🙂
The story begins with how the main character named Skylar was about to end her life by jumping off a building when a family friend named Ian spotted and rescued her. Ian encouraged Sky to live her life to the brightest before leaving their home after rejecting to marry her two elder sisters. A few years down the road, they kept harbouring a crush on each other while continuing their life. Ian was a successfully lawyer that have a daughter named Emily after a one night stand. While Sky was a law student that later got the chance to intern in Ian’s firm. As they reconnected, they confessed their love to each other and started dating. 🙂
When Emily’s mother named Christina came back into the picture after so many years, Emily wishes for a happy family. Ian and Sky decided to break up and grant Emily’s wishes. Sky was devastated and quit her intern job at Ian’s firm. Sky cut all ties with Ian and start afresh only to find that she had a miscarriage of Ian’s baby. On the other hand, Ian realises that he could not give Emily the happy family that she craved as he can’t force himself to love Christina in that way. Christina and Emily understood and gave their blessings to Ian to chased back Sky. Ian tried to court Sky again but was being pushed away as Sky claimed she need to find her life first. 🙂
The story ended with how after another few years apart, they realises that they still love each other. Ian proposed to Sky whom agreed. Five years into their marriage and they have two adorable children where they lived happily ever after. I will give this lovely novel a rating of 4 out of 5 stars. The main characters wasted lots of unnecessary time being apart when they could simply communicate to clear up those insecurities and misunderstandings.
