Hello to all movie lovers out there. Today’s blog post will be a movie review on an English film titled Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken. It was first screened in the year of 2023, with a duration of 1 hour and 31 minutes. It belongs to the category of animation, fantasy and comedy. Read on to know more about this amazing film. 🙂
The movie begins with how the main character named Ruby Gillman (voiced by Lana Condor) is a teenage kraken who was forbidden to attend prom by her mom since the venue was held in the sea. Ruby decided to go against her mom’s order and ask her crush named Connor to prom. But an accident causes Connor to fall into the sea, Ruby saved him and turned into a giant kraken. Connor believes he was being saved by the new girl named Chelsea who is a mermaid. Ruby was upset over the turn of events and ran away to hide. Ruby’s mom found her and calmed Ruby down before bringing her home. Ruby was upset that her mom knew about the transformation upon touching sea water and did not warn her in advance. Ruby ran away from home and knew that she had a grandma. 🙂
Ruby’s uncle brought her to meet her grandma. Ruby was estatic over the reunion and refused the throne before going home to her mother. The following day in school, Chelsea befriended Ruby and told her that she needed a trident to have a truce between mermaid and kraken. Ruby believed Chelsea and had training with her grandma. Upon completion of her training, Ruby successfully retrieved the trident, Chelsea showed her true identity of being the mermaid who lost to Ruby’s mom decades ago. Chelsea had a fight with Ruby’s mom and grandma after trapping Ruby. Ruby’s uncle found her and encouraged her to fight off Chelsea. Ruby rose to the challenge and combined forces with her mom and grandma. The trio used their super power and won the battle against Chelsea. 🙂
The movie ended with how Ruby asked Connor for a dance at the prom night. They became a couple and received Ruby’s family’s blessings. I will give this spectacular film a rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars. It has lots of special effects with great education purposes to be careful who we trust in reality.
